We are pleased to announce that Oasis Project have had its drug and alcohol services rated as “Good”. The service, which takes a unique approach to providing gender specific treatment services, was inspected in June 2019 by the CQC. The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and social care services in England. The team of inspectors undertook a thorough assessment of all aspects of the service looking at client records, speaking with staff and clients.
The service received an “outstanding “rating for responsiveness with inspectors noting;
“The service was flexible and innovative in meeting the needs of all clients, including those with protected characteristics or with communication support needs. It had a proactive approach to understanding the needs and preferences of different groups of people and delivering care in a way that met these needs, which is accessible and promotes equality. This includes people with protected characteristics under the Equality Act and the LGBT plus community.”
Inspectors also noted that
“Clients only had positive things to say about the service. They valued the safe space that was provided. All clients described the staff as helpful and professional.”
CEO Jo-Anne Welsh said;
“We are pleased to be rated Good by the CQC. This rating indicates the success of our model focusing on meeting the needs of women and providing family support. Staff work hard in the service and want the best for clients. I hope the report encourages anyone with a drug and alcohol problem to understand that they will be treated in a supportive, respectful way if they ask for help”.
